Brain aversion system Different anxiety, and anxiety-related, disorders (Table 6.1) are believed to reflect, at least in part, altered function in different components/ combinations of components of the brain aversion system. For simplicity, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are included under anxiety disorders in this chapter, although they are considered as distinct disorders by many.
