ABSTRACT

The human nail unit protects the ngers and toes, amplies ne touch, and acts as a mechanical tool in manipulating small objects, scratching, and dexterity. Additionally, nails are cosmetically important and contribute a large portion to the beauty industry in improving their appearance and quality. There are multiple cosmeceutical treatments available for brittle nails and other common nail disorders, including biotin, specially formulated nail lacquer, and other vitamins and minerals.1
